If you would like elements of your smile to be whiter, straighter, or more attractive, consider the new procedures and materials that cosmetic dentistry provides today.
Gaps, stains, poor shape, or teeth that are out of alignment are easy to repair with new treatments that are safe and long lasting.
Discuss with your dentist these options:
Veneers. Thin custom-made shells that are designed to cover the front side of teeth. Made of tooth-colored materials, veneers are used to treat teeth that are stained, chipped, poorly-shaped, or slightly crooked.
Tooth Whitening (also called bleaching). This procedure brightens teeth that are discolored, stained, or not as white as desired. Whitening performed by a dental professional whitens teeth six to eight shades in one dental appointment.
Bonding. A cosmetic procedure for teeth that are chipped, broken, cracked, stained, or have spaces between them. Tooth-colored material is bonded to a tooth surface. Bonding is also used to protect exposed tooth roots due to gum recession.
Enamel Shaping. A process of shaping or contouring natural teeth to improve their overall appearance. When teeth are slightly crowded or uneven, or when eye teeth appear too long, enamel shaping may be used to correct the flaw.
Dental Implant. An artificial tooth root attachment is surgically placed into the jaw to hold a replacement tooth. It is a viable option for those that have lost or are missing one or more teeth.
Tooth-Colored Fillings. A composite resin material matched to the natural shade of your teeth. Tooth-colored "white" fillings are an attractive alternative to silver amalgam fillings.
Porcelain Inlays/Onlays. Durable and attractive restorations used to repair cracked or otherwise damaged teeth. Inlays and onlays require less tooth reduction than fillings or crowns.
Dental Crowns. A cap used to repair badly decayed or damaged teeth. The crown is created from a mold of the original tooth and then cemented into place after the tooth is prepared. Crowns can be color matched to your adjacent teeth.
Dental Bridges. A sturdy structure composed of two crowns and a prosthetic tooth. Dental bridges are used to "bridge" the gaps where teeth are missing.
